Olive and June Obsessed

Being introduced to the brand; short color guide

Back in January 2020, I discovered the Olive and June as a brand, and the "poppy." I did not really get into it until March/ April 2020, when the entire world shut down due to the COVID19 pandemic. It was time for me to learn how to do my own nails, not only because there was no salon for me to get my nails done at. It was also since it was a skill that I knew that I always wanted to have.

I recommend checking out pictures on Instagram (or something like that) because the colors in many of the pictures on their website do not look like the real color. The picture online is sometimes off with what the actual color looks like.

I purchased my first 2 O&J polished and a "poppy" from Target. (Poppy at target) My first 2 were "SE" and "BI". I immediately fell in love! The colors and formula were just amazing! The poppy has also become my new best friend. I started to paint my nails constantly. I kept practicing and practicing until I discovered that I no longer needed poppy to paint my nails. I started to learn more and more about the brand on Instagram. I kept learning new tips and tricks to get the perfect mani.

The Summer 2020 O&J collection came out around the beginning of May and I was ready to get all those amazing new bright colors. As well as my first O&J mani system (post all about the mani system soon to come) I became obsessed with the colors and my manis kept improving. Here are my 3 favorite color combos from the collection. (these are only 6/7 colors from the set)

My First O&J mani with my Mani system, you can see a picture of right here. I used Fierce & loving as the main color. And then I used Bright & Focused as the accent color. This is definitely my favorite combo from the collection.

Next up we have Grateful & Kind as the main color. And Sweet and Gracious as the accent color. This is another one of my favorites!!

Here is my third favorite combo from the collection. Wild and Free as the main color.

Then I took a bit of a mani-pic taking brake apparently, as a look through my phone. ;)

Next up is one of my fav colors- Gray! "AW" is definitely a fav! The color is actually named after Allie Web, the founder of another one of my favorite brands, DryBar! It's a gorgeous Gray color which I am in love with.

"JM" is another one of my all-time favorite colors. It is pink that can be used all year round. It is a color that I always pull out. I am surprised that after using it ALL the time, I can't find a good picture!

When the Winter 2020 collection came out, I knew that I needed every single color. That was also when I purchased the Pedi System (post about that, coming soon). Here are 3 of my favorite manis that I have done so far with colors from the set. This was also my first time ever painting colors that were dark. So I have learned to be careful when it comes to painting close to the cuticles.
